Fake Follower Checker
Enter an Instagram account's publicly visible stats to get an authenticity score. No Instagram API credentials required — works entirely on observable signals.
How does the fake follower checker work?
This tool scores an Instagram account across 7 signals: follower/following ratio, engagement rate, post count, account age, profile picture presence, bio presence, and verified badge. A score above 80 indicates a highly authentic account; below 40 suggests significant fake follower activity.
What follower-to-following ratio indicates fake followers?
A healthy Instagram account follows far fewer people than follow it. A ratio where following count approaches or exceeds follower count (e.g. 8,000 followers, 7,500 following) is a strong indicator of follow-for-follow schemes or purchased followers.
What is a suspicious engagement rate?
An engagement rate below 0.5% for any account size is suspicious. For accounts with 10K–100K followers, genuine engagement rates range from 2–6%. If a 100K-follower account gets fewer than 500 likes per post, that is a strong signal of fake or inactive followers.
Why check for fake followers before a brand campaign?
Brands lose money when they pay for collaborations with creators who have artificially inflated follower counts. Checking engagement rate relative to follower count is the strongest signal of audience quality — more reliable than follower count alone.
Can I check fake followers without an Instagram API key?
Yes. This tool works entirely on publicly visible account data — no Instagram API credentials or login required. Enter the follower count, following count, post count, and average engagement to get an instant authenticity score.
